On 17th December 2019, we held an event at Autosales Skoda in Burntwood, to launch our new replacement Rapid Response Vehicle (RRV). We attended 565 jobs and covered over 2,100 on-duty hours last year.
We currently maintain a fleet of 2 liveried vehicles which support the following communities: Burntwood, Cannock Chase, Norton Canes, Chase Town and surrounding areas. One of the vehicles was starting to cost us more and more each year to repair and it was decided a replacement was due, and a fundraising project to fund £40,000 was started.
As a Charity we rely on the good will and generosity of local businesses and the general public to keep the scheme operational, this includes the buying of equipment and uniforms to the upkeep and maintenance of the vehicles.
In June 2019 the £40,000 target was reached, and we immediately began the purchase and conversion of their new vehicle.
Shaun Mayo, a Trustee for the Charity said “We are all very grateful for the generosity shown from the businesses, organisations and general public for supporting this project. Having 2 vehicles back on the road ready to respond will not only benefit our dedicated volunteers but the communities we serve also. It has been a busy year for our Team, from fundraising and grant application filling to the purchase and conversion, and it is nice to see the RRV completed and ready for use.”
